The Electronic Data Methods (EDM) Forum is a three-year grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to collect, synthesize, and share lessons learned from 11 projects using electronic clinical data for comparative effectiveness research (CER) and patient centered outcomes research.
Over the course of the grant the EDM Forum will support the research projects by
- Providing opportunities for collaborative learning to accelerate the exchange of information among the research projects;
- Working with stakeholders to engage the community in identifying issues and priorities for the projects and the EDM Forum to address;
- Ensuring widespread promotion of the tools, techniques and findings from the research projects.
Additional activities through the EDM Forum include a literature review of clinical informatics and CER, a needs assessment conducted with the research teams, a series of stakeholder interviews, and sets of commissioned papers and briefs on topics identified by the EDM Forum Steering Committee.
